ABSOLUTELY
11/5/2018 0 Comments Week of november 5-9Hello Everyone! Can you believe it's already November? We are almost a third of the way through the school year now, and we are learning, learning, learning! Take a look below to see what we are up to at Arrowhead!
Parent/Teacher conferences are this week. Students will be dismissed at noon on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday so that teachers can meet with parents. If you're not sure when your conference is, please email me and I'll send you a reminder. Also, please be on time for your conference. With only 15 minutes for each conference, plus many families with back-to-back conferences for siblings, it's very important that we begin and end on schedule. Our Cat/Griz food drive is going strong! We are collecting food for our community members who are in need. Students can bring in non-perishable food items and place them in either the Bobcat or the Grizzly bin to show support for their favorite team! Donations will continue through November 14. Veterans Day Program for general music is next week! On November 12, the 4th and 5th grade general music students will be doing a Veteran's Day performance. Parents may come watch the program at 8:45 that morning. What's happening? Math: We are working hard on multi-digit multiplication and division. It is VERY important that your child is practicing his/her math facts every night. Remember: don't sign your child's planner unless both reading and math facts are completed. Thank you for your support! ELA: We are reading biographies this week in reading. We are focusing on comparing and contrasting informational texts, and we are always working toward having great reading fluency. Ask your child what all the components of reading fluency are. Social Studies: Students' MT Tribal Nations tic-tac-toe projects are due this Friday, November 9. The students will not have more time in class to complete this, so you might see your child finishing things up at home. This week, we are starting to learn about European explorers and the reasons why they began to explore other parts of the world, including the Americas. Science: The students are learning about the night sky in science!
