Hello Everyone! Happy Spring! The students are all enjoying the warmer weather at recess; I hope families are able to get out and enjoy some warm weather on the weekends (OR head to the ski slopes to get some end-of-season runs in!)
We have a busy week of learning this week, and we have a SHORT week next week. Here's what's going on:
*Hooked on Fishing Dissection Thursday, March 22
*Spring Break March 28-April 2
We just started working on fraction multiplication. Students are working on modeling fraction multiplication and learning the algorithm for solving fraction multiplication problems. Most nights, your child should have a little bit of math homework, unless he or she finishes it during class. I encourage you to take a look at your child's math book to see what we are doing!
We are finishing up another Wonders Unit, and this week students are taking an assessment. They are also working on a Lewis and Clark inquiry project. Students will present their slide shows for this next week!
Students aren't working on a long writing project right now, but we are setting the groundwork for some persuasive writing with smaller assignments that ask students to take a stand on an issue and show text evidence to support their opinion. Take a look on Google Classroom for some of these little assignments to see what your child has to say!
We just began learning about the American Revolution. Right now, we are studying the major events leading up to the Revolutionary War, such as the French and Indian War, The Boston Tea Party, The Stamp Act, and the Boston Massacre. The students are really getting into some great discussions about this!
Students are working with robots during their Project Lead The Way time in Mrs. Eagle's class!
