ABSOLUTELY
1/29/2018 0 Comments Week of January 29-February 2We have lots going on this week! We have a special guest coming on Tuesday from the Yellowstone Art Museum to do a "art suitcase presentation" and on Thursday we have Hooked On Fishing. Please remember to send a plain, cotton t-shirt with your child by Thursday for our t-shirt making project.
Math: We are finishing up our work with decimals and moving on to a bit of geometry this week. We will be classifying polygons, including quadrilaterals and triangles. Even though we are moving on from decimals for now, we will continue to circle back to these concepts, as we do with other concepts we've learned throughout the year. ELA: We are reading more expository text and working on finding text evidence to support our findings in text. Main idea is also a key idea in our reading. Students are working hard to determine the main idea of informational text as well as pointing out key details. Social Studies: We are continuing to learn about the 13 original colonies. Students are working with small groups and are going to create a model blueprint of their own colonial community. Science: The students are starting work with inputs and outputs with their robot "computer brains" and they're working on designing a toy! Writing: We are working on expository writing. This week, your student will be writing a paragraph about 3 fun weekend activities. He or she will be working at home on this on Google Classroom. The paragraph is due Thursday.
