ABSOLUTELY
1/8/2018 0 Comments Week of January 8-13Hello Everyone! We have a lot going on this week, so I'll just get right to it!
A FreshSchools reminder went out today, but I'll post here too: we are doing NWEA testing this week on Tuesday and Friday. Please do your best to have your child at school, and make sure your child gets a good sleep and a good breakfast! It really does make a difference! The Geography Bee is Tuesday, January 9 at 8:30 am. Good luck to Kaden and Parker as they compete to represent Arrowhead at the county Geography Bee! It looks like we may be getting some more snow this week. Please make sure your child is appropriately dressed. Students are not allowed to play in the field or on the playground equipment unless they have boots, and if temperatures get really cold, students must have a winter coat in order to play outside at recess. We want to make sure everyone at Arrowhead is safe! What's Happening? Math: We are starting decimal division this week! Students should also be practicing math facts at home each night, either with flash cards or on Xtra Math. ELA: This week we are reading fantasy stories and continuing to work on determining theme for the stories we read. We are also writing expository paragraphs. Ask your child about his/her "snow play" paragraph! Social Studies: Students are working on their Expository Explorer Essays. We are making sentence strips and writing our rough drafts this week. Then we will work on revising and editing. Science: Students have begun to work with the robots for Project Lead the Way!
