4/16/2018 0 Comments Week of April 16Hello, everyone!
It seems spring is finally here! Not only does that mean warmer weather, it also means we are winding down our school year! We have about a month and a half left of fifth grade, and then your children will be off to middle school! We have a lot going on in these next weeks though. We have testing, field trips, guest speakers, projects, and concerts coming up! Math: We are starting fraction division this week! ELA/Writing: We are focusing on finding text evidence in our fiction and nonfiction reading, and the students are going to be starting to write a narrative this week. They'll also be reading about recycling and creating an opinion paper about it. Science: Robots! Robots! Robots! The students love PLTW! Social Studies: We are studying the American Revolution, and soon students are going to be doing some in-depth learning about a key player in the revolution. Testing Schedule: We will be taking the NWEA tests this week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (makeups will be next week). We will be taking the SBAC during the week of April 30-May 4. Please make sure your child is getting a good sleep and a good breakfast, especially on testing days. Testing will be done mainly in the morning.
